Beanie Project 2020/2021
The “Beanie Project for Childhood Cancer” will be an annual project starting September 2022, undertaken by VOICE as one of its many endeavours focusing on children. It is also to remind ourselves, during the month of September i.e. the “Childhood Cancer Month”, to take a breather from our busy schedule, to reflect how blessed we are to be healthy and to give a thought to the children under-going cancer treatment.
It is a gesture from VOICE to support and cheer the brave children undergoing cancer treatments. There are no words that can describe the anguish, distress, depression and agony suffered by these children and their parents, especially those who come from poor and needy families.
Many of us may comprehend the sorrow, pain and discomfort that the children and families went through, but few will understand the true situation unless we have gone through it ourselves.
Therefore, while the children cope with the side-effects of cancer treatments and other difficulties, VOICE hope that with the beanies over their heads, it will keep them warm and remind them that they have a friend who have not forgotten them.
Lord Willing, VOICE will be able to facilitate a program to do more for these children, especially those from the poor and needy families.
This beanie project is initiated by VOICE co-founder Ms. Jenny Mah, and supported by her friend, Dr. Han Winn Hui of Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya (PPUM) to plant this little seed of hope starting with PPUM, that GOD will bless and nurture to be a structured healthcare and medical assistance endeavours program in time to come.
Would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Han for assisting and helping VOICE to make the beanies available to the children.
Below are some pictures showing the handing over of the beanies to the Pediatric Oncology Ward of PPUM in August 2020 and July 2021. Hope this will inspire VOICE community of potential donors and sponsors to come forward during June ~ September 2022 to assist by sponsoring your time and efforts in making more of these beanies to touch more hearts to commemorate “Childhood Cancer Month 2022”.
