Neglected Children & Family Care Program

The purpose of “Neglected Children and Family Care Endeavours” (“NCFC”) program is to address neglected children and family care issues. The core actions are focused on identifying & investigating, counselling, reintegration/integration, monitoring & evaluation of neglected children and birth parents. The process as follows:-

1. Identifying & Investigating. Identifying the neglected kid and investigating his/her background and how the kid ended up in the orphanage or from the street, and followed by qualifying the birth parent’s suitability of pursuing the reintegration process;

2. Counselling. Both the kid and birth parents are being counselled to recognise the source of the situation that led to the separation, to work together to manage the expectation of the reintegration, and to take ownership of the roadmap established for them;

3. Reintegration. Organising events, activities and creating opportunities to facilitate and encourage interactions between the kid and the birth parent to pave the way for a smooth reintegration, and a healthy and happy reunion; and,

4. Monitoring & Evaluation. The roadmap established for the family (kid and birth parents) during the counselling phase, will be monitored and evaluated from time to time until the kid reaches maturity and/or when emotionally and financially independent as advised by the designated councillor.
